A man who was seriously injured when his ride-on lawn mower toppled down a bank and onto rocks at an estuary on Auckland's North Shore, has undergone surgery at Auckland City Hospital tonight.
The man, in his 60s, suffered hip, back and facial injuries.
Firefighters and ambulance paramedics had to pull the injured man from underneath the mower after the accident at Browns Bay after 9am.
The mower was tipped onto its side and appeared to be leaking petrol into the water.
Skid marks were visible on the grass above the mower, on a bank about 1m high.
