A 42-year-old Christchurch man is in hospital with serious injuries after his logging truck rolled 30m down a bank in the Marlborough Sounds today.
The fire brigade and Wellington's Westpac rescue helicopter arrived at the scene about 8am and winched a paramedic down the bank to treat the truck driver, chopper crew chief Dave Greenberg told NZPA.
"We got the call about 6.30am and when we arrived, we found the man with serious injuries to the chest, pelvis and leg."
Firefighters assisted in the rescue bid, he said.
The man had been flown to Wellington Hospital for treatment.
