KEY POINTS:
A man in his 40s has been flown to Hawke's Bay Hospital with serious head injuries after apparently being assaulted in Waipukurau last night.
A Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter spokesperson said the man was found bloodied and semi-conscious by a family member.
Police were not available to comment on the incident this morning.
