A pedestrian was badly injured when a car crashed into a bus stop in Lower Hutt this afternoon.
The man suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Lower Hutt Hospital, police spokesman Inspector Ian Harris said.
The bus stop was also extensively damaged in the crash at about 1.15pm.
The car was registered to an elderly woman. The driver was not hurt.
The Lower Hutt police traffic unit was making inquiries.
