Save A man who severed his fingers with a skillsaw near Napier last night is having surgery this morning.
The 34-year-old's fingers were accidentally sawn off while operating a skillsaw at Puketitiri, the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter said yesterday.
He was flown to Hawke's Bay Regional Hospital for further treatment, then
transferred to Hutt Hospital about 11pm.
A Hutt Valley spokeswoman said the man was due to have surgery this morning.
It wasn't yet known how many of the man's fingers had been severed or if any of them had been saved.
