A man's ear had to be re-attached after a drunken fight in Hastings last night.
Police were called to a Manuka Street house just after 1am by concerned neighbours reporting up to 10 people fighting.
When police arrived they found a man missing his ear, and drunken and uncooperative residents, Senior Sergeant Luke Shadbolt said.
Police found the missing part of the ear, which was then re-attached during surgery at Hastings Hospital.
Mr Shadbolt said there was little else police could do without cooperation from those involved.
