A Tauranga man has handed himself into police after footage was released connecting him to an assault on a woman in a shop in the Bay of Plenty.
The 33-year-old man was arrested and charged with indecent assault in relation to the September 10 incident, police said.
It came after a photograph, taken from CCTV footage from inside The Warehouse Papamoa, was released to the public yesterday in a bid to identify the man who police believed may be connected to the attack.
Officers investigating the assault received "a really positive public response" to the appeal, police said, thanking the public for their help.
"As a result, a 33-year-old Tauranga man came in to see us this morning and has been charged with indecent assault," police said in a statement.
