A 61-year-old Oamaru man was yesterday found guilty of historical indecent assault charges against a girl he met through the church.
Alan Ramsay Parkes was remanded in custody for sentencing in Timaru District Court, The Timaru Herald reported.
He was found guilty on four counts of indecent assault on the girl when she was aged between seven and 12.
The offending took place between 1975 and 1980, when the man and the girl lived in Christchurch and belonged to the same church.
