KEY POINTS:
A 52-year-old Napier farmer was today remanded on bail until November 28 on charges including the rape of a girl, indecency with animals, and bestiality.
The man, who has interim name suppression, is facing a total of 17 charges.
They include three charges of raping a female between 12 and 16 years, one of attempted rape, six charges of indecent assault on a female under 16, two of unlawful sexual connection with a female under 16, one of indecent assault on a boy under 12 years, two of indecency with an animal, and one of bestiality.
His lawyer, Jonathan Krebs, said his client accepted there was a prima facie case to answer but maintained his pleas of not guilty to all charges.
