KEY POINTS:
A man nearly four times over the legal blood-alcohol limit was arrested in Napier on Friday after he crashed into a parked car.
Sergeant Wendy Wright said the 24-year-old man had a reading of 1502 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath.
The legal limit is 400 micrograms.
"He was a forbidden driver so his vehicle was also impounded, and he's been charged with careless driving because he's hit a parked car," she said.
Ms Wright said speed was not a factor and the man was not injured but "it's amazing he's still alive."
The man was due to appear in Napier District Court on April 2.
