A 49-year-old man is in a serious condition after he was found lying on a Wellington road with head injuries, police say.
The man was found on Rossiter Street in Linden, Tawa about 11.30pm.
He was taken to Wellington hospital, and was in a serious condition, Detective Senior Sergeant Grant Ferguson said.
"Police are trying to piece together the victim's movements and the circumstances that have led to this injury occurring."
A scene examination was underway, he said.
