A man found guilty yesterday of raping two women is already in prison for similar offences against two teenage girls.
Suppression lapsed for David William Alden, 42, a former cleaner, after he was found guilty of five rape and five sexual violation charges by a jury in the High Court at Palmerston North yesterday.
He was found not guilty on one count of sexual violation, the Manawatu Standard reported.
Eight of the charges Alden was convicted of yesterday - including four for rape - related to offending against one Palmerston North woman from 1993 to 1995.
The others date from 2005 to 2007, when Alden raped and violated another woman.
Both victims were known to him and were teenagers at the time he preyed on them.
He raped one of them while her baby was in the same room.
He will be sentenced on May 13.
