A man has been found not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter for shooting his former partner last year.
Stacey Lake, 23, a mother of two, died in Wellington Hospital on May 9, the day after being shot at Otaki Beach.
Tuaine Bevan was charged with murdering her.
Defencelawyer Christopher Stevenson confirmed the Palmerston North High Court jury found Bevan not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter after deliberating for about one day.
