Save The Auckland man who died after being attacked in a sleepout in Manurewa has been named as 55-year-old Richard John Lees.
He is survived by a wife and daughter.
Police today said relatives in New Zealand and in England had been informed of his death.
A homicide investigation was launched
after Mr Lees was found dead by a flatmate on Friday morning.
Police said he was living a ``normal, routine, quiet life'' and there was nothing that warranted him suffering such a violent death.
