Police have launched a homicide investigation after a man in his early 20s was found dead in the early hours of this morning.
Police were called to a boarding lodge in Onslow Road, in the Auckland suburb of Mt Eden, at 3.30am today.
Upon arrival they found the man lying on the bloodied floor of a hallway.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by attending ambulance staff.
"The focus this morning will be to speak to residents in an effort to piece together the events that occurred," said Detective Inspector, Bruce Shadbolt.
Police urge members of the public who may have information regarding this investigation to call them on 09 302 6400 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
