Man found at house with samurai sword - police

A 40-year-old man has been charged after allegedly being found at a Christchurch house armed with a samurai sword.

Police said they were called to the St John St address in suburban Woolston early today.

The man, visiting the house, was arrested at the scene and charged with assault, threatening to kill and resisting arrest.

Police said they were continuing inquiries and speaking to neighbours.
