A man was threatened at knifepoint during an aggravated robbery in Napier and forced to sign a contract saying he had sold his vehicle.
Cousins Thomas Kyle Ngapera, 27, and Lawrence Ngapera, 23, pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery when they appeared in the Napier District Court yesterday.
On September 23, 2011 the two forced their way into a man's home in Marewa and told him they were going to swap cars. When he argued, Thomas Ngapera told him he must give him his car or he'd slit his throat or hit him with a hammer.
Then the man was forced to sign a note saying he had agreed to sell his car for $1200.
Thomas Ngapera also signed the note.
