An injured man has been flown to Waikato Hospital, following a quad-bike crash today in a remote area south of Taumarunui in the central North Island.
Emergency services were called to Retaruke at 9.53am to rescue the man, who had fallen into a gorge and was trapped, the police said.
A helicopter extracted him at around 11.30am and he was taken to Waikato Hospital.
A hospital spokeswoman said this afternoon, "He's not critical, but he's still in the emergency department."
The man is aged in his 50s.
