A man who climbed on to the roof of Gerry's Charcoal Chicken and Cooked Seafoods has been brought down safely.
Police have confirmed the man is now in police custody.
Inspector Sean Hansen, Area Commander Hutt Valley says police and firefighters have been at Gerry's Charcoal Chicken and Cooked Seafoods on Keys St since after receiving a call to a man on the roof about 7am.
The man was wanted in relation to a domestic violence incident in the area last night and then reappeared on the roof this morning.
"When Police arrived, the alleged offender has run away and during the foot pursuit, has scaled a building to the rooftop ... the focus is to apprehend him safely without any harm to him or others at the scene."
