A 47-year-old Wairarapa man who secretly filmed his stepdaughter taking a shower was fined $1500 and ordered to pay emotional reparation of a further $2000 when he appeared for sentencing in Masterton District Court today.
The man pleaded guilty last month to possession of an intimate visual recording which he made in 2006.
Permanent name suppression was granted to the man today, despite a request from his victim that he be named.
Judge Bruce Davidson said identifying him would be "wrong", would identify the victim and would only satisfy "the prurient interests of the media".
