A 66-year-old man will appear in court today after an armed domestic incident in Gore last night.
The police armed offenders squad was called to a property in Holton Street shortly before 8.30pm, Invercargill police senior sergeant Dave Raynes said.
The surrounding streets were cordoned off for about 3-1/2 hours before the man was arrested, he said.
No one was hurt during the incident.
The man was due to appear in Gore District Court today on firearms charges.
