A man found guilty of murdering a hairdresser he thought was a love rival has been sentenced to life imprisonment with no chance of parole for 10 years.
Joseph Falefiaosinga Rota earlier pleaded guilty to murdering Wainuiomata man Huri Edward King-Mosen.
The High Court at Wellington today heard Rota was addicted to synthetic cannabis, was paranoid, and believed his partner may have been cheating on him.
He attacked Mr King-Mosen and strangled him to death on October 28 last year.
Rota will be jailed for at least 10 years.
