A Waikato man faces numerous charges after allegedly assaulting his partner before driving his car through his neighbour's fence and crashing into a parked vehicle.
Officers were called to a property at Ngaruawahia about 7pm on Sunday after reports of a violent domestic dispute, Sergeant Neil Mouncher said.
"A 29-year-old man's attempts to drive off in his Nissan Skyline car before police arrived just made the situation worse. As he reversed down the drive he smashed through a fence and crashed into a neighbour's vehicle parked in the driveway of the property next door."
The man then allegedly hit another neighbour's fence and attempted to flee from police.
Police saw the man weave his car across the road several times and narrowly avoid a collision with an oncoming car as he turned on to Great South Road, Mr Mouncher said.
