The third person charged in relation to the attempted armed robberies of a Waihi service station and a dairy in Katikati last month has appeared in court.
Rastaman Angus Rapatini, 20, of no fixed abode, faced two charges of assault with intent to rob when he appeared in the Tauranga District Court yesterday.
Police allege the attempted robberies occurred within half an hour of each other on June 18.
Community Magistrate Sherida Cooper remanded Rapatini in custody by consent. Rapatini, who is yet to plead to the charges, is due back in court on Monday.
His alleged co-offenders, a 17-year-old Mangakino youth and a 19-year-old Rotorua man, who both have interim name suppression, appeared in court this week.
