A man who allegedly terrorised staff at an Auckland church while armed with a gun and knife appeared in Auckland District Court on related charges yesterday.
The man was remanded in bail until Friday.
He allegedly sent angry emails to St Heliers Presbyterian Church before turning up at the church on Monday armed with the weapons.
Staff at the church were forced to take refuge in a sideroom as armed police surrounded the building.
A man was later arrested at his home.
