Six weeks after a Queenstown parking officer was allegedly threatened and his ticket machine thrown into Lake Wakatipu, a 28-year-old Invercargill man has turned himself in.
Queenstown Lakes District Council regulatory and corporate manager Lee Webster said divers retrieved the machine from the lake a week later and it was sent to the company they acquired it from, who managed to salvage a photo from the memory card.
The parking officer had been working in Marine Pde at 2.10pm on October 3 when he was approached by a man who allegedly made threats against him, grabbed the machine and threw it into the lake.
Sergeant Mark Gill said the man would appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday charged with threatening behaviour.
