KEY POINTS:
An elderly Auckland man was last night in a serious condition after being dragged from his burning bedroom by his son.
The man, believed to be in his 70s, was rushed to Middlemore Hospital suffering burns to his body and smoke inhalation after a fire at his Mt Roskill home about 7pm.
The fire is believed to have started in the elderly man's bedroom.
