Man dies while free diving in Wellington harbour

Police said emergency services were called to Seatoun, on the eastern side of the Miramar Peninsula, around 4pm.

A man has died while free diving in Wellington this afternoon.

Police said emergency services were called to Seatoun, on the eastern side of the Miramar Peninsula, around 4pm.

They said the man was pulled from the water unconscious.

Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

The death will be referred to the Coroner.
