A 58-year-old man has died in a workplace accident near Oamaru today.
Emergency services were called to a workplace on Weston Rd, west of the South Island town, just before 4.30pm.
A St John spokesman said an ambulance attended but did not take anybody to hospital as the man died at the scene.
Worksafe NZ officials and police would now look at events leading up to the death.
Police were also working through a formal identification process and were contacting the man's next of kin.
