Police are investigating the death of a young man who fell from the balcony of a Wellington city apartment today.
The death happened at a central city apartment block in Taranaki Street around 7.30am.
Emergency services were called to the apartment block after reports a person had fallen from a balcony of an apartment, Detective Senior Sergeant Donna Howard said.
Ambulance staff tried to resuscitate the man but he died at the scene.
A scene examination is being carried out to find how the man died.
Until the scene examination and a post-mortem are completed, police would not be releasing any further details, Ms Howard said.
