Man dies in diving accident

A man died in a diving accident in Resolution Bay, Picton, yesterday.

Police said the body of Nigel Lees, a chemist from Stratford, was found in the water shortly after 9am.

Stratford deputy mayor John Edwards said Mr Lees was well known there.

"He was a well-respected man and a well respected business man in the town and will be sadly missed by this community."

Mr Lees was sworn in as a JP in January.
