KEY POINTS:
The driver of a car which failed to stop at an intersection near Cambridge died after crashing into a bank.
Kristopher Mark Shaw, 31, of Cambridge, died in the crash at the intersection of Goodwin and Parallel Roads, Kaipaki, in the early hours of this morning.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.
Senior Sergeant Dave Simes of Te Awamutu police said Mr Shaw was the sole occupant of a Holden Calais car which failed to stop at the T intersection, drove over a drain and crashed into a bank.
The crash was discovered by a motorist about 6.30am.
Investigations are continuing into the cause of the crash.
