A man died after the tractor he was driving rolled, trapping him underneath.
Whangarei police Senior Sergeant Anaru Roberts said police were called to the Mountfield Rd farm about 12.25pm yesterday.
The man, 47, had died at the scene from head injuries. "The husband and wife were doing some fencing when the husband drove off the edge of a slip and the tractor overturned," Mr Roberts said.
Police, St John Ambulance, Waipu Fire Brigade and the Ruakaka Fire Brigade attended. Occupational Safety and Health personnel are investigating the accident.
Meanwhile, a Northland farmer seriously injured when his quad bike flipped at Te Arai Pt, 24km north-east of Wellsford on Monday, is in a stable condition in intensive care at Auckland City Hospital.
