A retired minister died after cycling into the path of an oncoming motorhome on State Highway 1 near Mosgiel yesterday.
Allanton man Alan Richard Kerr, 66, collided with a 4WD motorhome on the road 4km out of the Otago town about 3.05pm, Dunedin Senior Sergeant Steve Aitken said.
Initial inquiries indicate Mr Kerr crossed the centre-line on his bicycle, riding into the path of the motorhome. The retired Presbyterian minister died at the scene.
The other driver was physically unhurt but shaken, Mr Aitken said.
Though a number of people had already come forward, police were appealing for witnesses to the crash.
