Man dies after crash with school bus

A serious crash between a school bus and a car this morning has left the driver of the car dead.

The accident happened at the intersection of Cosgrove Road and Clevedon Road, Papakura.


Police spokeswoman Angeline Barlow said 14 intermediate school children were on the bus. Some were treated for shock though none were reported injured.St John Ambulance, firefighters and the police's serious crash unit were attending the scene.

Road closures have been put in place and the police are asking the public to avoid travel through this area of Papakura.

In a separate incident, a crash involving just one vehicle at the Pararoa Road and Waikiekie North Road intersection at Waiotira, south of Whangarei, has left one person dead and another injured.- HERALD STAFF
