A man who was trapped in his car after rolling down the Hutt River bank has died from his injuries.
Emergency services were called out at about 11.10am where the man suffered serious injuries and had to be cut out of his car.
Wellington Police inspector Mike Coleman said the man in his 20's lost control of his vehicle and hit a timber bollard.
A rescue helicopter was on standby to transfer him to hospital, however he died on the scene.
He suffered head injuries and collapsed lungs.
