A man died after his vehicle collided with a pole in the Manawatu this afternoon.
The car the man was driving crashed into the pole near the intersection of Tangimoana and Rosina roads near Bulls about 4pm today.
He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The road is open to traffic, but police are asking motorists avoid the area until the Serious Crash Unit has completed a detailed examination of the scene.
A Central Fire spokesman said two fire engines from the Bulls station went to the crash.
