A 65-year-old man has died after a car and a truck collided in Southland today.
The crash happened near the Oyster Factory on Bluff Road between Bluff and Invercargill, about 7.20am, Senior Sergeant Craig Brown said.
The car, with two people inside, was travelling south towards Bluff when it appeared to hit the back of a truck and trailer unit, which was travelling in the same direction.
Mr Brown said the crash happened near roadworks just outside the northern boundary of Bluff, Mr Brown said.
The man, the car's passenger, died at the scene.
