A 19-year-old Wairoa man found lying near a park in the town with serious head injuries on Tuesday has died, a Hawke's Bay District Health Board spokeswoman said today.
Police were initially involved in investigating how the man was injured but it had been established that it was due to a brain haemorrhage resulting from a medical condition.
"It was not injury or accident related," the spokeswoman said.
The man's family had asked for privacy.
