Man dies after boat swamped by waves

Three people were tossed out of a boat that was swamped by waves off the Manukau Heads yesterday afternoon.

Police say the body of one them, a man, was found floating in the water near Paratutai Rock.

He had been wearing a lifejacket.

Two other people were found in the water nearby and were rescued by a recreational fishing boat.

Police say they had very little information to go on, as the two survivors were suffering from hypothermia and shock.
