Man dies after being trapped under quad bike

A man has died after being trapped beneath a farm bike at Houhora in the Far North.

A St John's spokesman said an ambulance was called to the property about 11.40am yesterday, but he had died by the time it arrived.

The dead man is believed to be aged about 55.

Kaitaia police Senior Sergeant Gordon Gunn said the man was found under the quad bike at the bottom of a small bank. Police were investigating and OSH had been notified, he said.
