A 63-year-old man is dead after being hit by a bulldozer which rolled down a bank in south Taranaki around midday.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene after the incident on prviateland in Karahaki Rd, Waverley, just after 12pm,
Senior Sergeant Brendan Keenan from police central communications centre told NZPA police were still at the scene.
He said it was not clear at this stage whether the bulldozer driver lost control of the vehicle which then rolled down the bank hitting the victim.
The incident has been referred to the coroner.
