A critically injured man dropped at Tauranga Hospital todayhas died.
Police said the man was left at the entrance to the emergency department at about 12.20pm with critical injuries.
Police confirmed the man was being treated by hospital staff when he died a short time later.
"Police are working to establish how the man sustained the injuries and are making a number of inquiries in the area," a police spokeswoman said in a statement.
She would not comment further other than to say police were investigating.
