A man died after he lost control of his car and crashed into a tree near Hamilton this morning.
Three other people in the vehicle were injured and taken to Waikato Hospital.
Huntly police Sergeant Blair Donaldson said the crash happened about 9am on State Highway 23 at Whatawhata, 15km west of Hamilton toward Raglan.
The 29-year-old man, whom police not yet named, lost control of his grey Nissan Primera and went off the road and crashed into a tree.
"No other vehicle or persons appear to be involved and police are continuing enquiries to determine the cause of the crash," Mr Donaldson said.
Police want to hear from anyone who mayb have seen the car in the vicinity of the crash this morning.
