A Whangarei man died yesterday when his motorbike and a car collided.
Karlton Hughes, 50, died at the scene of the crash on Murrays Rd, west of Whangarei.
Police said the crash happened about 2.45pm when two motorcyclists were travelling north towards Mangakahia Rd.
Hughes' motorbike and an oncoming car collided and he died at the scene. The driver of the car was uninjured, police said.
