Man dead after being struck by car in Whakatane

A 25-year-old man was killed when he was struck by a car in Whakatane last night.

Police said the pedestrian was hit on Keepa Rd about 8.50pm.

Two ambulances were called to the scene.

Diversions were in place last night while police spoke to the driver of the vehicle.

Inquiries were continuing.
