A man is dead after being hit by two trucks near Foxton last night.
The 41-year-old was struck by one truck and then by another which was following close behind on State Highway One, near Matuiti Road, a few kilometres north of Foxton, about 9.45pm, Levin police Detective Steve Yates said.
Both trucks, which had been heading in the direction of Wellington, stopped at the scene when their drivers realised what happened.
Police said the man's family had been notified but his name had not yet been released.
Investigations into the accident were continuing.
