A 70-year-old man has been critically injured after being hit by a car in central Christchurch tonight.
Sergeant Chris Brooks said police arrived at the scene on Aldwins Rd about 6.30pm.
"He's in critical condition at the moment. We're treating it pretty seriously," Mr Brooks said.
Police did not know
what had caused the crash but would be investigating, he said.
It was not confirmed whether the injured man, who had been taken to hospital after the incident, was a pedestrian.
