A 28-year-old man is in a critical condition after a car collided with a motorbike near Rotorua last night.
At 8.15pm last night the Rotorua based BayTrust Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Murupara, 55km south-east of Rotorua, to provide medical treatment to a man seriously injured after a car and motorbike collided on the outskirts of the town, helicopter staff said in a statement.
The 28-year-old Rotorua man was airlifted to Rotorua Hospital in a critical condition with multiple injuries.
A landing zone was set up by the fire service in a paddock where the patient was located.
Police, ambulance staff and a local doctor attended the crash scene.
