A Hamilton man has been hospitalised with moderate injuries after crashing his recently-sold high performance sports car into a concrete wall.
Police said the man was driving a 2007 Porsche 911 GT on Somerset Street about 7pm Friday when he spun out in wet weather, mounted a footpath and smashed through a concrete wall.
"It was estimated the Porsche was being driven in excess of 100km/h," Waikato police spokesman Andrew McAlley said.
Both the car and wall suffered "serious damage", he said.
The vehicle had reportedly been sold and was due to be shipped overseas.
